I need to sneeze.
It’s right there. I can feel the sneeze desperately wanting to be out.
Yet.
Here I am.
I was writing about this to myself the other day.
I’ve only shared this with a couple people, but for the past 837 days I’ve written a “personal log” entry (not every day, periodically).
That project started off inspired by The Martian as a way to talk through the work and problems I’ve been tackling.
And I came across this "sneeze" concept a little while ago in this writing.
It was also this log writing which made me realize the usefulness that I can impart to YOU, if I only CHOOSE to take the plunge.
I need to sneeze.
It’s a feeling I get when I’ve been working so deeply and for so long on an idea that it’s PAST the point where it needs to be out.
And I've learned through intuition, this means it's time to move.
Here’s the context.
I’ve been so entrenched in my clients’ projects over the past year (especially the past 6 months as things have gotten really interesting), that I’ve constantly bumped back my own work.
You’ve gotten my ‘You Doctrine’ email series here and maybe one or two other emails, but I’ve effectively failed to build the gravity here that I could.
I haven’t finished my articles related to that intro series, and I haven’t emailed with any sense of regularity.
Until very recently, my justification was “I don’t need new clients, so it’s not a priority.”
This is still true.
What’s changed is my internal drive and desire to share meaningful work which can help you regardless of what that means for myself and my business.
Well, that desire has always been there, I just dropped that priority in favor of working deeply with my current clients.
So what’s really changed is I now have internal clarity on making this happen. A loop has been closed. A new one opened. And it’s time to step forward. Time for a forcing function.
Time to sneeze.
I have, in Obsidian here (the program I’m using to write and organize my ideas), over 100 complete and partially complete ‘articles,’ emails, and concepts which make up various points in the ‘web’ of my reality.
“The web” of my “Inevitability Method.” Which I’ve been implementing in great depth for multiple clients.
I have multiple articles to extend my “Down the Rabbit Hole” (suspect I’ll change that name) series stemming off the You Doctrine, which I’ll share when published.
I have a series I began with the last email, and which I mirrored on LinkedIn. My intent was to build that out exploring each relevant point until I had completed the depth of insight I felt appropriate.
What’s been holding me back?
I am an innately empathetic person.
When I write for myself and for my clients I tap deeply into that empathy and do my best to feel what my reader is going to feel.
(I can't help it, this is just how I write)
The upside is I can write effectively for a very wide range of subjects and people, so long as I have the opportunity to put myself in the shoes of the reader.
The downside (if this is a downside) is that my writing and work is heavily intuition and emotionally based. I can’t proceed if the dots don’t connect internally.
(This is why I have a hard time with social media ... I feel like garbage on those platforms, so I have a hard time doing anything on them)
NOW the dots (for myself) are connecting.
I’m revealing a lot behind the curtain here for a few reasons.
I actually don’t mind if what you read makes you NOT want to work with me.
Over and over I’ve proven to myself that vulnerability, clarity, and truth with my clients have been strengths and have produced far better work than otherwise.
Second, I’ve been inspired by work I’ve done in a little community called The Guardian Academy (some on my list are from there, if you aren’t while it exists in the realm of crypto, it’s very much a human project).
If you want to learn more about me and what makes me tick, you can read an article I wrote recently for the group which was published. (it's long ... like, a 30-45 minute read)
TGA’s Corner Man, Dr. Jeff Spencer, says that we are all blessed with gifts which can help others, and the greatest thing we can do is share those gifts. You never know when your gift might be the difference for someone.
Lastly … the reasoning behind my work is HUGE.
The world context which influences why I think the way I do and why I work the way I do is massive.
The social media sphere is prone to platitudes because that’s what works there. Simple ideological statements which confirm your beliefs and biases and which sound insightful, but when you dig, are usually too simplistic to actually be useful.
This list is different. (as is yours)
You are reading this far (and after a dozen+ other emails) which means you’re more than willing and curious to go deep on topics and find new understanding.
I love that.
So I’m going to do my best to feed that.
I’m going to complete my Manifesto.
I’m going to complete “Why Email” - a core piece which lays out in unrelenting depth Why I chose to work with email (this is the kind of writing which expands every time I write and explore the idea).
And eventually through all this I’m going to attempt to codify my process so that you too can create the same kind of work.
(If that’s what you desire)
At the very least, you can watch me evolve and develop this area of my business and life.
If that doesn't sound interesting?
well, thanks for stopping by :)

It’s Friday afternoon and I’m picking up my daughter (7) from school. She walks up smiling … And immediately starts telling me about her day: “so we actually ended up being early even though we had to wait because the bus door wouldnt open so we just stood there and waited but then w-“ she pauses to take a breath “we got on the bus and we went there and we were early and ao we had to wait there for awhile not just because we were early but because the other school was late” she looks at me as...
“I don’t think we need to spend more than 200.” I was telling my wife this as we discussed a possible new tent for our family camping trip this summer. “If that! I’ve seen plenty of options for less” she replied. Our life has changed this year, and while we’ve camped fine in the past, the addition of our new guy (8 weeks old as I write this email) has made a different dynamic. “What I really want is a great big cabin tent!” She went on. We’ve never really been “glampers” before … But camping...
After my “Achoo” email, I realized I need to cover a very important subject. It’s all about the idea of “The Solvable Problem” which is in fact INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY of Dan Nicholson, author of Rigging the Game. After writing the "Achoo" draft, I went back through and re-wrote the terms “solvable problem” in order to not be actually in violation of intellectual property … But I need to share this idea with you because it’s a foundation of how I approach my work and life. Essentially, how I...
